Northern Credit Union and Veterans Commemorative Monument Partner to Honour Men and Women of Service
The community Veterans Commemorative Monument (VCM), planned for construction in Rowswell Park near the riverfront, received assistance today from Northern Credit Union.
Tony Dunham, SVP Sales, Marketing and Channel Management said, “By partnering with the Veterans Commemorative Monument, we are not only able to leverage Northern’s presence in the communities throughout our footprint, but we are able to utilize TrueNorthStrong.ca, to generate awareness and the funds necessary to pay tribute to those who have, and who continue to serve our country. Corporate social responsibility is a cornerstone of Northern’s True North Strong philosophy. ”
Similar launch of these fundraising efforts were also held today at both Northern branches in Sault Ste. Marie and Richards Landing.
VCM Committee Chairman Clyde Healey expressed the group’s thanks by saying, “On behalf of our committee, veterans and supporters we thank Northern Credit Union and their staff for their support of this very important initiative. This is a great example of how businesses, organizations and individuals can be a part of this community initiative to recognize and honour our veterans.”
There are many opportunities for the public to help in the building of this monument. To learn more or to donate, visit www. TrueNorthStrong.ca or www.ThoseWhoServed.ca. Donations are also accepted at your local Northern Credit Union Branch.
