Northern Credit Union 2015 Calendar Contest Now Accepting Entries
SAULT STE. MARIE, ON (September 8, 2014) — If you have a favourite photo that illustrates your life or captures something you love about your Northern community, you can turn that picture into cash, thanks to Northern Credit Union’s Show Your True North Colours calendar contest.
The annual calendar contest is now open and Northerners of all ages are invited to submit entries for the 2015 calendar.
“We’re looking to our communities to show us what they appreciate most about the unique way of life we enjoy here in the North,” says Al Suraci, Northern’s President & CEO. “We’ve opened the contest up to people of all ages and look forward to seeing their submissions.”
In April, Northern launched a new website, True North Strong Communities. The website is the first of its kind in the North – a gathering place to donate to local projects, programs, and charities across our region. Winners will be the recipients of a cash prize, and funding to start a cause of their choice on True North Strong Communities.
As a special school incentive, the school that submits the most entries will receive a
$1,000 contribution on True North Strong Communities to help raise funds for their school. To learn more, visit www.truenorthstrong.ca.
The first place winner will receive $1,000 cash and $1,000 for the cause of their choice. The second place winner will receive $500 and $500 for the cause of their choice. The third place winner will receive $250 and $250 for the cause of their choice.
Entries can be existing photos or ones shot specifically for the contest. The contest is open now and concludes at 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, Nov. 7, 2014. Photos can earn votes as soon as they are uploaded. Entries can be posted on
Winners will be announced at the end of November and calendars will be available in each Northern branch in mid-December.
