YOUR ONE-STOP FINANCIAL LITERACY SHOP!
Your students may not have a mortgage or be thinking about RRSPs yet. But it won’t be long before they’ll need to make sound financial decisions that will shape their lifetime.
Good news! We’ve got everything you need to teach your class about budgeting, mortgages, managing debt, investing (and having a whole lotta fun while they’re at it!). From games and online videos to other tools and resources, we’re here to help young Northerners to not only survive, but thrive in the financial wild.
SURVIVING THE FINANCIAL WILD TOOLKIT
The kit is a great place to start teaching your class the ins and outs of managing their money. There’s the game, video cards and other information that will lead you to exclusive online resources.
Your toolkit includes:
1. GAME BOARD
The game board is used to track the teams' progress while they are playing the Surviving the Financial Wild game. You can place the board on a desk top or hang it on the wall (don’t worry…the game characters stick!).
2. GAME INSTRUCTIONS
Instructions for playing the ‘Surviving the Financial Wild’ trivia game.
3. 6 GAME CHARACTERS
There are 6 fun and furry characters for the teams to choose from: a moose, wolf, chipmunk, bear, goose and beaver. The characters are peel & stick just like the game board, so teachers won’t have to worry about the characters falling off the board.
4. 50 FINANCIAL SURVIVAL GUIDEBOOKS
After your class has played the game, send them home with a handy Financial Survival Guidebook that includes more insights into how to manage their money like a pro.
These Financial Survival Guidebooks for students include insights into how to manage their money as well as some key financial term definitions. There are 50 guidebooks per kit so each student will be able to take one home.
5. FINANCIAL TRIVIA QUESTIONS
The toolkit includes 120 Trivia Questions that cover topics that fall into four main categories: Budgeting, Debt Management, Mortgages and Investing. Questions range in difficulty to give students a wide breadth of financial savvy.
6. VIDEO CARDS
Online videos. Kids just can’t get enough of ‘em. That’s why we’ve produced over 30 digital mini films that dig deeper into financial matters to help your students make the most of their hard-earned bucks. These cards outline all the available videos, which are broken down into budgeting, debt management, mortgages and investing categories. You can use these video cards to supplement in-class learning with visuals.
